The administrative head of the college is the President, who is responsible for its internal organisation and administration and who reports to the Board of Governors. Other senior administrative officers are outlined in the organization structure. Please see names at the back of the catalogue.
Administrative Support Staff
A number of office personnel provide support to the administration of the College.
The College is organised into Divisions of which there are currently five: Adult and Continuing Education; Arts, Sciences and General Studies; Health Sciences; Teacher Education; and Technical, Vocational Education and Management Studies with Deans having oversight of their functioning. The Deans manage members of the teaching staff called lecturers.
Academic Support Staff
In certain fields of study/departments, the lecturers are assisted by laboratory assistants and technicians who are generally responsible for the maintenance of equipment and the setting up of experiments.
The library staff consists of a Director Library Resources and administrative assistants.
The general staff, comprising a grounds maintenance person, security officers and janitorial staff, are generally responsible for the care of buildings and grounds.
College Management Committee
The College has a Senior Administrative Committee comprised of the President, Vice Presidents, Registrar, Bursar, Deans, and Directors.
The Disciplinary Committee comprises a chairperson, faculty representing the various divisions of the college, the guidance counselor, a representative from the student body and the community and Police Department’s liaison to the college.
Any student who violates college regulations or the Student Code of Conduct is reported to his/her dean, who informs the president and or vice president, who, in turn, refers the complaint to the Disciplinary Committee. The Disciplinary Committee then conducts hearings and makes recommendations.
The Disciplinary Committee also deals with student complaints. Complaints should be submitted to the chairperson in writing. All proceedings of the Disciplinary Committee shall be documented.
