In celebration of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) students’ pursuit of excellence, the College held its first annual President’s Awards Ceremony on November 29, 2019. The purpose of this event was to recognize and reward the hard work and dedication exhibited by CFBC students. The awards were not only based on academic excellence, but also highlighted their stellar contributions to the College and their community.
The recipients were from the Divisions of Technical and Vocational Education and Management Studies (TVEMS), Arts, Sciences and General Studies (ASGS) and Teacher Education. Mr. Chris Tyson and Mr. Geron Elliott received the W. Ferdinand and Cynthia M. Dore Award for Best Agricultural Studies Student and Best Student in the Division of Teacher Education respectively. Mr. Tyson also received the Cable Award for Community Service, as did Ms. Zakiya Walters.
The CFBC President Award for Leadership was presented to Mr. Wricherly Gumbs, President of the Student Government Association and Mr. Chris Tyson.
2019 State Scholar, Ms. Kizwana Proctor, Ms. Kadeema Blanchette, Ms. Arljanique Ward, Mr. Lufkin Foster, Ms. Niola Thom, Ms. Danecia Richardson, Ms. Kachiqua Williams, Ms. Serena Browne and Mr. Geron Elliot were presented with awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
Mr. Shamar Pemberton was awarded the CFBC President's Award of Merit and Ms. Tanuja Delaney, the
CFBC President's Award for Excellence in Sports: Best Athlete. Dr. Jacqueline Austin, President of CFBC lauded the sponsors: the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, Development Bank of St. Kitts-Nevis, Ministry of Education and the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF). The Cable, who also sponsored our event, has generously pledged to provide annual sponsorship through the Cable Award for Community Service.
It is our hope here at CFBC that through fostering a culture of meaningful moments of recognition, that
others would be inspired to achieve their full potential.
