Moreover, the popular Office Administration and Management Programme is being updated to incorporate essential 21st-century skills such as data analytics and AI prompt engineering.
Accreditation and Collegiate Culture: CFBC is committed to upholding high academic standards and fostering a vibrant collegiate culture. An Accreditation sub-committee has been established at the Board level, and a gap analysis has been completed, with the operational steering committee activated to begin closing the gaps in 2025. The College has also made a significant investment in its technological infrastructure with the adoption of Canvas, a University-grade Learning Management System (LMS), which is currently being piloted across divisions to enhance online teaching and learning. Efforts are also underway to build out a collegiate athletic programme to provide opportunities for student-athletes.
The institution is committed to enhancing the student experience through technological advancement with the installation of fibre optic networks to all campuses and sustainability with the planned Phase one of the Green Campus initiative, including the installation of solar panels at the TVEMS campus in the summer of 2025. Investments have also been made in upgrading facilities, with over $89,000 spent in 2024 to upgrade the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Unit.

7TH ANNUAL POETRY CIRCLE
CFBC TO HOST 7th ANNUAL POETRY CIRCLE ON WORLD POETRY DAY— FRIDAY, 21st MARCH 2025
Basseterre, St. Kitts, 21st March 2025 (CFBC): The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), the Federation’s only indigenous tertiary institution, will be celebrating and highlighting the work of local poets and joining in the observance of World Poetry Day for a seventh consecutive year, not only in recognition of its significance in the lives of residents of St. Kitts and Nevis, but also to further its flowering and endurance.
The CFBC will host its annual Poetry Circle on Friday, 21st March 2025, at the CFBC’s Main Campus at Burdon Street, Basseterre, in the Poinciana Conference Room at 5pm.
There are great expectations for this national linguistic and cultural event, which will feature notable poets in our Federation, some of whom are published—as well as CFBC students, faculty and staff, and alumni.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) first adopted 21st March as World Poetry Day in 1999 during its 30th General Conference in Paris with the aim of supporting linguistic diversity through poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages to be heard.
The theme for World Poetry Day 2025 is “Poetry as a Bridge for Peace and Inclusion”. This theme highlights poetry’s transformative role in promoting peace, creativity, and inclusion by connecting people across borders and fostering mutual understanding and respect.
According to UNESCO “World Poetry Day is the occasion to honour poets, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals, promote the reading, writing and teaching of poetry, foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting, and raise the visibility of poetry in the media. As poetry continues to bring people together across continents, all are asked to join in.”
William Hazlitt said “Poetry is the universal language which the heart holds with nature and itself. It is the bridge that connects us, transcending borders and differences.”
Members of the public are invited to attend the poetry event.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 7th February 2025 (CFBC): On 5th February 2025, several students from Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) participated in World Read Aloud Day with a Read Aloud Relay on the Morning Show with G-Cue at ZIZ Radio (96.1FM). The students, Vikell Edwards-Douglas, Endira Reeknauth, Tazia Williams, Makalia Tucker, and Kayla Penny, read from “Richard Wright and the Library Card” by William Miller, illustrated by Gregory Christie.
This book tells the inspiring story of young Richard Wright, an African American boy in the Jim Crow-era South, who has a deep hunger for knowledge. Despite the racial segregation that denied him access to books, Richard’s determination leads him to obtain a library card through unconventional means. With this card, he embarks on a secret journey of self-education, reading voraciously and expanding his horizons.
The narrative highlights the transformative power of literature and Richard’s relentless pursuit of knowledge despite facing significant barriers. It underscores the impact of systemic racism and delivers a poignant message about how books can transform lives, providing a sense of freedom and empowerment.
Staff of the CFBC Library led by Director of Library Services, Mrs. Sonita Daniel, organized the Read Aloud Relay and other WRAD activities. The staff includes Ms. Claudia Harvey, Ms. Trevlyn Richards, Ms. Casandra Nesbitt and Ms. Lauritza Harvey, whose dedication, diligence and creativity helped in the successful execution of the activities.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 5th December 2024 (CFBC): Sixteen second-year Culinary Arts students from the Department of Culinary and Hospitality Studies, part of the Division of Technical Vocational Education and Management Studies (TVEMS) at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), showcased their exceptional skills during the Wine and Food Pairing exercise held on 3rd December 2024. The event took place at the Nathaniel John Hospitality Centre, located on the main campus of the CFBC. During this exercise, they were evaluated in three distinct categories: appetizer, main course, and dessert. Each team had to demonstrate their ability to create corresponding pairings with both food and wine, showcasing their culinary skills and understanding of flavor profiles.
“All we did is that we gave them a wine. They now had to do their research to pair that wine with a dish, so they had to research that wine and find out which dish is best served with the wine,” said Dominic Stevens, instructor for the Wines and Spirits course, who thanked the Director of Hospitality at CFBC, Ms. Marsha Bassue, Mr. Peter Marshall, Culinary Arts Lecturer and Executive Chef, and other team members for their collaboration.
