The course begins on 22nd October, 2024 and will be held every Tuesday for eight (8) weeks from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Nathaniel John Hospitality Centre at the CFBC Main Campus, Burdon Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

CFBC-JENKINS LEADERSHIP COURSE 11TH COHORT BEGINS ON OCTOBER 28
Basseterre, St. Kitts, 8th October, 2024 (CFBC): New and experienced managers and persons seeking to enhance their leadership skills are invited to register for the highly sought after CFBC-Jenkins Leadership Course with this year being the eleventh cohort.
The course commences on October 28, 2024 and will be conducted on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Multipurpose Room at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College’s (CFBC) Main Campus, Burdon Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts.
The duration of the course is 18 weeks and space is limited. The application fee is EC $40 and registration fee is EC $500.
The CFBC-Jenkins Leadership Course is facilitated by a cadre of learned professionals with the chief facilitator R.A. Peter Jenkins. Areas of focus will include lectures on leadership styles, effective communication, team building, creative and strategic thinking and decision-making, project planning and wealth creation. The selected cohort will also be required as part of the training to conceptualize and complete a community and business project.

Qualification and Experience:
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in modern languages in French and Spanish from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Must possess a Teaching certificate or recognised teaching qualification.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience.
- Successful experience in teaching additional language courses would be considered an asset.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Summary: The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for administrative responsibilities that support the administration, faculty, staff and students of CFBC. The function of the Administrative Assistant is to contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the College. Thisrole of Administrative Assistant III requires the ability to manage complex tasks and prioritise work in support of the President.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity
- Coordinate and manage schedules, i.e. avoiding clashes with other appointments
- Make arrangements for executive travel, i.e. booking flights and accommodation
- Organize and prepare meeting rooms
- Prepare agendas, take minutes of meetings and circulate to members
- Draft letters, memos and proposals
- Produce reports and presentations
- Proofread and edit documents
- Log incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist with the organising, planning and delivery of special events.
- Maintain accurate records and files for easy retrieval
- Answers telephone, screen calls, routes calls and responds to internal and external
enquiries - Liaise with visitors and senior management
- Employ discretion and confidentiality with all stakeholders
- Manage special projects within the President’s Office
- Assist with budgeting, prepare requisitions and order supplies
- Post content to CFBC social media accounts in accordance with CFBC protocols

- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to demonstrate research and analytical skills.

Financial Accountant
Job Title: Financial Accountant
Reports to: Bursar
Purpose: To assist the Bursar in the operations of the Finance Department
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the Accounts Officers and Driver.
- Sign Purchase Orders for approved requisitions.
- Approve petty cash vouchers for approved requisitions.
- Verify the following: (a) daily receipts with the prepared bank Deposit Book to ensure that all funds collected daily are being deposited to the bank daily; (b) daily entries posted for revenue.
- Arrange daily deposits to the bank.
- Assist with the verification of student invoices in the accounting system against the information in the student information system.
- Assist with responding to student queries made by phone, email or in person on billing or other financial matters.
- Monitor the following to ensure they are correctly posted in the accounting system by the cashier: (a) emailed weekly registration lists from the Office of the Registrar; (b) online receipts.
- Reconcile accounts transactions with the various departments.
- Prepare student payment plans, salary deductions and credit memos for approval by the Bursar.
- Prepare monthly reports on accounts receivable, payment plans and salary deductions.
- Communicate with students by mail, email, phone or in person to pursue collection of balances.
- Email monthly statements to customers in the accounting system.
- Assist with the provision of documents and information to the internal and external auditors.
- Provide other reports and reviews as requested by the Bursar.
- Serve on institutional committees and teams as requested.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Bursar.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants must possess at least 1-3 years experience an Accounting position
- A Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and budgeting processes is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

- Strong knowledge of timber technology, wood science, and related fields
- She/he is expected to practice, advocate and promote the highest standards for scholarship, academic achievement, honesty and professional integrity.
